I started DJing for Character's Nightclub in 1983 4 nights a week. As my experience grew so did my fan base. Soon I was

being asked to play Fraternity & Sorority Parties, which prompted me to purchase some of my own gear to keep

up with the demand. The initial investment was (2) cheap turntables, home-made speakers (that I blew up right away), an amplifier,

Radio Shack mixer board and microphone.  It wasn't long before I had to buy the real thing and asked Dad for a loan.

Well, $5000 later I had (2) high-end professional turntables, Peavey speakers & amps, Shure microphones, a professional mixer board

and built a decent but humble light show (not bad for mid-80's). Which has grown extensively since.I soon found

myself having to quit the nightclub because I was too busy DJing parties which soon turned into weddings, formals

& high school dances. I still have the turntables & all the original vinyl  (4 huge crates full) but somewhere late 80's

that vinyl was partnered with a new technology called "Compact Disc" & my technology grew. I've been through

several upgrades since in lights, sound, music and even a new thing called Karaoke somewhere in the 90's. That by itself

turned into a weekly event at JB's bar then later 505 where Thursday night continues to be "Karaoke Night".

After 40 plus years of DJing, everything is on Computer now. The CD's & Lp's are all in storage and music

is all now played from a hard drive. The light show has grown quite a bit too as I continue to stay current with

technology and up-to-date on music & display. I subscribe to the same companies as radio does & the database

is always current. In my 40 plus years of history I have DJ'd for events as small as 30 people up to events

of 2000 (Joplin's Blast from the Past). DJing may not be my only job but I take my Djing seriously

when I am "on the job",  a crowded dance floor & happy faces is always my goal.
